78% of households in Rwanda have access to electricity, with 23% being off-grid, mainly through solar home systems. Solektra is incredibly honored and deeply humbled to have played a role in increasing energy access from 34% in 2017 to the current rate, serving around 10,000 Solar Home System Customers. Tuesday evening, we visited some of our customers and beneficiaries who are part of the LIGHT Project in partnership with Save the Children. We had a great evening with the customers and collected their feedback on the impact of solar energy 8 months after its installation. One of the students shared that before they had solar power at home, he was ranked 17th in his class and didn’t attend school regularly. With solar energy, he now ranks 4th in his class. This clearly demonstrates the incredible impact of energy on everything!
