Since April 2019 SOLEKTRA has installed solar Mini-grid in eastern province, Kayonza district,  Ndego sector in Isangano village.Ndego is one of the sectors which is sunny more than other sectors in Rwanda especially in eastern province. Ndego is also in the part of the sectors that doesn’t have national grid connection at all. SOLEKTRA have started by giving 40 customers electricity coming from solar mini-grid. Currently, SOLEKTRA solar mini-grid consists of eight installed solar panels with 275wp and eight Power Bloxs that provide 1.2 kilowatt each. The overall capacity of the system referred to the installed solar panel is 2.2 kilowatt.

It has enabled people to open and operate some key businesses that could not be done without such mode of electricity, they now have barber saloons, Boutique with Fridge Inside, Computer and Printing,….etc. The projection is to continue impacting more people through building more Mini Grids that will connect more people and help them to increase businesses.
